From Fallarbor Town, head back towards Mauville City. Once you make it there, head north. You will see a man standing outside a house. Be sure to be healed, because you must fight him. After you beat him, his wife will come out and fight you. After her, their daughter will come out. Then after her, their grandmother will come out. You cannot heal between these matches. Once you beat all 4 of them, go inside and talk to them, they will give you an item. That item is called the Macho Brace, and although it will lower the holders speed, it will increase effort value gained by 1.5x (which is good). Anyway, Continue on north, and you will see a Reporter and a Cameraman. Talk to them for another Double Team battle! After the match, if you talk to them they will want to interview you. Im not quite sure on what they say, so just pick something. It doesn't seem to have any effect on the game, well at least that I know of. Now continue along, and you should see some Aqua members blocking the Ski Lift. Just enter inside the path. You cant go to the right, so don't worry about that boulder. This pathway has alot of cool new wild Pokemon in it, so don't be so hasty to leave. Once you leave, be sure to talk to everyone. You can get a few TM's from these people. The house to the right will let you heal. Be sure to do so before going west to Route 113.
There are more trainers here, and if you notice, there is ash falling from the Volcano! There are Ninja's hinding in the snow, that kinda look like Pokeballs, so be careful if you are low on health. This path is very straightforward, with a bunch of items. You will eventually reach Verdanturf Town. It doesn't have anything interesting. Once you are done talking to people/healing, head west again, onto Route 114. You will see a house. Enter it, and talk to the kid. He will give you TM28. Now enter the cave to the north, and talk to that guy. Once you are done, continue along the path. You will find some more trainers, and another patch of grass with some more new Pokemon. Go south and walk up the hill. Look at your TM's. If you have TM43, Secret Power, you can make your own secret base! If you see those little holes on the wall, teach someone that move. Then just talk to it. The wall will come down, and you can enter. You will be asked if you want to keep it or not. The computer will be for decoration. If you make a new base, your first base will be destroyed.
If you can't find TM43, someone is selling it in Slateport city. In that open air market in Slateport City, you can find a few people selling things for your base! If you make it back to Route 111, you will find a large tree to the left of that healing house. If you use Secret Power on it, you can turn it into your own base! I've provided some screenshots of this base, just because it looks cool. This little section has nothing to do with the storyline however, its just something that couldn't fit in elsewhere.
Now if you walk south along the ridge, you will find a cave opening. You will see some Aqua members and a scientist. If you walk down to them, Team Magma will come! Team Aqua will run away, and then Team Magma will talk to you. They will then leave as well. You won't get to battle anyone however. Now make your way out of the cave. Continue along south, and make your way back to Rustboro City. Go east, back onto Route 116. Enter Rusturf Tunnel, and make your way back to Fallarbor Town. Go all the way back to Mauville City, then north to the Ski Lift. The Team Aqua members should be gone, so ride on it. You will make your way upto Mt Chimney. Incase you didn't notice, it is snowing. You will see Team Aqua dueling with Team Magma. You can't go down, so head North. You will see the Team Magma leader taking on 3 Aqua members, and other various battles. Head west, and fight the Team Aqua members. They actually have more Pokemon now! The Aqua leader can be seen messing around with some device. He has 3 level 25 Pokemon, so watch out. Once you beat him, talk to the device, then head south.
